The tales of the Five Kingdoms: ‘The Godlings’
The year is 1005
It has been over a thousand years since the flames of Leomass, the Psion of the White Tower of the East, fell on the world.
Cast out of the realm of the Gods, his fires lit the skies of the land of Bara’ghost and its great cities of kings fell under his will. Only Five Kingdoms stood against him.
Once all-consuming, the Dead Forests – the Psion’s greatest weapon against the world – has been undone by the return of an ancient adversary and now the land changes once more. For centuries the realms of Bara’ghost have been broken and lost to each other. Until now…
It is only three days since the ascension and the passing of the dead to the halls of Thodan. A party of adventurers has used the Portal of Harkers Lodge for the last time before it is dismantled, and arrived a few hours walk outside of Stony Bridge.
Hundreds of Orc tents and yurts line the roads and the surrounding fields a few miles south of the Sallow River Bridge; banners show that many tribes and Clans have come together from the surrounding Swamps and marshes.
The Adventurers used the magical gate to get ahead of a small band of kidnappers who have stolen away ‘The Voice’ of the Setti of Akhem Arman, a person bestowed with the power and rite of passage to the gates of ascension.
The kidnappers’ master, the High Priest of the Kaldoom Makutt, has plans to use the Voice to open the Soul Sea and use Abolitic magics to capture and bind unborn souls to dead bodies, raising an army of the dead. The party must rescue the Voice, and stop this insane plot.
The story so far…
Many things have changed since the return of the Urn of Seragol to the hands of the Western Kingdoms.
The Awakening of an Aylwardi Arch Mage from a long magical slumber brought with it the dispelling of the dead forests of Leomass. Known as the Bone King, this adversary of the Psion nearly defeated him many centuries ago in the Southern realms, but was in the end spent. He escaped the confrontation and hadn’t been seen or heard of since then. Its unknown what his intentions are.
The usurped and exiled Orc king, Mora’gon of Goul’riems, has brought together the lost war banners of the Orc houses and is rallying many clans and tribes to these powerful symbols. It’s thought he plans to march on Goul’reims and retake his lost kingdom from his brother, King Elgar’dire. This potential civil war comes at a fragile time and could spill out across the valley of the Kingdoms and into the other realms.
An ancient order, believed vanished hundreds of years ago, has also shown itself to be agents against the Kingdoms and possibly the Realms. The Makutt are the religious order of the lost Kingdom of Kaldoom and fanatics of their lore.
The defeated barbarians of the Northern mountains have fled the battlefield of the wall and are now carving their way back across the Still Marshes. Many hamlets and small boating fens have been raided and many have died. The Northern and Southern Watches have tried their best to capture or kill the fleeing horde, and although outnumbered, have done an excellent job so far of preventing the main settlements from being targeted.
The Rangers have been recalled from their winter posts to protect Harker’s Lodge since garrisons of Men left for other deeds and the Lodge was left with few guards. The purpose of the Rangers needs to be addressed; with the dead forests receding and the threat of Leomass dwindling, Aldman has recalled all his agents to discuss what they should do next.
Important Event Info
This event is set out to be a non-stop adventure and will see the party arriving back at the town of Stony Bridge. All IC camping will be set up as tents you ‘dwell in’ after arriving IC. There will be a fully IC bar and all adventures will be localised, rather than using portals as before.
All IC monies will be handed back out and new players will receive some coin too. Money buys everything and the economy will still be a vital part of the game.
Crew will be on their feet all weekend with loads of awesome roles and war. You may only make a few visits back to the crew hut, so bring food and drink to carry with you during the day. As usual breakfast will always be there though in the morning to get us going, and a hot meal in the evening. Bread and soup will be offered for Saturday Lunch.
Arrival: Feel free to arrive anytime on the Friday after 12pm to set up your camps; the key to the main gate will be hanging on the stop sign if you’re arriving late. There will be an area for both in-character (IC) camping and out of character (OC) camping.
