Five Kingdoms
Dark fantasy adventure awaits!
Greetings! – Welcome to ‘Five Kingdoms’, a game of high-fantasy, magic and the unimaginable horrors of a fallen God. Everything you could imagine from a fantasy game; from magical races, to evil necromancers, from dragons and goblins to stolen treasure hoards,
Five Kingdoms is a fest style game, with a main over-arching storying line, that of securing a lost artefact in order to save the known world and its inhabitants. Like most ‘Eye-Larp’ games, this game has grown organically, with multiple strands of narrative emanating from character actions.
Our world is a vast expanse of varying climates, from ash-deserts and festering swamp-land, to lush forests, jungles and frozen mountain ranges. Amidst these lands, we find pockets of civilisation, each as wondrous as the next – offering countless adventures, artefacts and adversaries.
Like all first games, everyone will be finding their feet, both as players and as characters – as we journey across the lands of the known-world we will find all manner of friend, foe and foray into the unknown. So grab your shield and your spell book and embrace this fully immersive story, where you will create as much of the world and occupants as you want – smite the undead, save the village and slay the dragon – as with all our games; you get out what you put in. I look forwards to sharing the road with you.

Background
As with all our events, they begin with a quick brief of the story thus far – this helps introduce new players to the world, while reminding current players of their own story thus far. As we find new locations, or find ourselves at old ones, the players will be briefed on how where they are, although the story thus far will not be explained (find that elsewhere on this page). It does help to understand a few OC basics to help you ease into the game and set expectations.
Where are we?
It is difficult to say exactly where the story takes place – as our story follows on ‘main party’, so we often find ourselves travelling between villages and towns within the land. However, as we journey the lands; known and unknown, our cartographers practice their skills and the map forever develops. Therefore, it is easy for new players to get an idea of the local lands.
In all likelihood, unless briefed otherwise (and you may well be!) you’ll join the party as they enter a new city along their great adventure. Maybe you’re a lost Dwarf in ‘Stoneybridge’, seeking to find his missing kin. Perhaps, you are a lowly Mercenary from ‘Korn’, to whom the songs of wealth and riches play a sweeter tune in your ear. Maybe you are a travelling artisan, from one of the major cities – seeking to spread his wares. Whatever your story, you’ll soon find your path crossing that of other’s seeking their own purpose. Will they help or hinder? – who knows.
Useful Background Files
We’re in the middle of laying these out onto the site, in the mean time here are some useful background documents.
What’s the style of play?
Think of classic ‘DnD’ – although ‘magic’ is currently “outlawed”, it is making its resurgence. It’s effects are entirely role-play dependant, the current focus is on ‘hedge-magic’, manipulating the beliefs and minds of the weak. Your power as a caster rides on how easily you can sway those you oppose.
As with most things ‘Eye-Larp’, the success of your actions is strictly limited to your ability to phys rep and roleplay your chosen effect.
Magic
Wheras magic does exist in the game, it’s currently outlawed.
James will write some AWESOME stuff here…he will, promise.
