1847 – Oldwell, Crash County, New Mexico
An unearthly craft smashed into the dusty New Mexico ground outside of Oldwell, NM. Over the course of a handful of months curious locals and opportunistic visitors began to overcome their fear and self preservation instincts. Before long the population of Oldwell began to pick and peck, vulture-like, at what remained of the craft, using it to their advantage in day to day living and to make a dollar or two selling these advanced technologies to wider communities.
Despite this being a landmark event, it did not create the national stir you might expect. Indeed, it fell to local jurisdiction to rename the area ‘Crash County’ in recognition of the event.
This allowed the town to climb out of the dust bowl it spawned in and become the advanced and bustling town you see before you today. In three short decades, this once ramshackle and rundown town has managed to elevate itself to become a hub of activity, advancement and ambition.
The year is now 1877. The folk of Oldwell gather in their dusty town for a celebration; it has been three decades since The Crash occurred and the story of the craft has travelled a little further than the limits of Crash County, drawing many to visit and seek to join the celebrations.
Happy Crash Day!
