We run immersive experiences inspired by films, stories and video games.
Unlike many other LARP companies, we keep rules light and focus on providing an environment that is as immersive as possible, making you feel like the protagonist of your own movie. We call this style of play “Film-sim” and is at the centre of our gameplay ethos in both our LARP events and the airsoft weekenders that spawned EYELarp.

Players and organisers spend the events together, living out experiences and adventures in a controlled live-action environment. An EYELarp event is always driven by an ongoing story spanning a series of events, supported by visual immersion, supported by players and the ref team building the story in as free-form and organic a way as possible. Everyone needs to be on their toes the whole time and ready to roll with whatever direction the story takes!

EYELarp’s approach and rules are simple. We set the boundaries of the game and give a guiding nudge to the story – then it’s over to everyone, players, crew and organisers alike to take ownership and shape the direction the adventures take. Behind the scenes, our dedicated event crew use their years of experience and a huge investment in set dressing, props and costumes to make sure everyone has the best experience they can.

No matter what the setting for the story is, the guiding principles of our system are:

• React to everything that happens around you
• Don’t expect a specific reaction from others
• Phys-rep everything you can*
• Only play what you can phys-rep*

These guidelines  go hand-in-hand with a policy of letting players self-police what’s real and doable by their character in the event’s world – after all, no one is a better judge and critic of you than yourself! We also have a great team of refs who know the game inside-out who can guide you on what’s possible in the world you find yourself in, and publish Design Documents for every new game to help with character creation in advance.

EYELarp events are an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, immerse yourself in a character and a new epic environment, and leave the real world behind for a few days. We never forget that, ultimately, we are a bunch of people dressing up and playing let’s pretend – and are all here to have fun.

Our community is built on that shared ambition, and whilst we are serious about running and playing the best events we can, we don’t take ourselves too seriously and never forget that LARP is as much about providing entertainment for the people you interact with as well as yourself!
